Is your company insured?

Yes – we are fully insured across all aspect of our business – whether this being storing your fishing
gear or gear in transit etc, However we strongly recommend that you also have your own personal
travel insurance.

Do I need a Fishing License?

No – You do not need a fishing license at any Carp Hunters Europe Fishing Venues

Do I need a passport or any other documentation?

You will need a valid passport to travel. Please ensure that this is in date and complies with the
passport agency standards and the country that you are travelling to.

Do I need travel insurance?

Yes. We strongly recommend that you use your own travel insurance in case of any emergency’s.

Do you own the lakes?

Carp Hunters Europe do not own any of the lakes. We act on behalf of the venues and operate as a
tour operator.

Do you take bookings for part weeks?

No, our trips are either Saturday to Saturday or Sunday to Sunday depending on the venue.

Do you provide transport only?

Yes, if you have already secured your lake and require either transport of your gear only or your
group and gear, we can provide a transport only service anywhere in Europe. Please contact us
directly for an individual quote.

I’m new to fishing in France/Croatia/Italy can I go?

Yes. We help a number of first-time anglers. Our team stay with you for the week and are there to
provide guiding and support if required. We also carefully select venues that are suitable for each
anglers’ level of experience. If you would like more information on first time trips. please give us a
call.

Can i take a non angling guest?

Yes you can subject to space on the minibus and at the venue. There is a cost for a non-angling guest
– please contact us for further information.

I’m an experienced angler what can you offer me?

For the experienced angler we can offer a wide selection of venues. Some of which as a solo angler
or small group, you would be unable to secure a booking yourself unless you book a lake exclusive.
We take the time to understand exactly what you want from your fishing holiday and go to great
lengths to ensure we get you onto the right lake.

Do I need to luggage labels?

Carp Hunters Europe supply each customer with a set of named luggage labels for your kit. This is
essential to identify each anglers’ piece of equipment.

Where are the pick-up points?

Our starting pick up point is in Lichfield where our secure parking is placed. (WS13)
Anglers that are based above Birmingham or in certain locations, are required to travel to Lichfield
for the starting collection point. In some cases we can try and pick you up from your home address
if you are on our driving route to Dover, but this will need to be agreed with Our Transport Manager.
If you are too far from our route we would ask you to meet us at a Motorway services or
Dover/Portsmouth. However, if you are a group of 8 Anglers we can arrange to collect you all from
one designated collection point subject to an extra transport cost if above Birmingham.

Carp Hunters Europe Secure Car Parking Location.

We have 5 vehicle spaces at a secure car parking location in Lichfield. This is fully gated operates
24hr CCTV and is alarmed. Customers wishing to book this please contact us and make sure that
your vehicle is insured to park anywhere. Charge per vehicle per week is £18.00 payable to Carp
Hunters Europe.

How do we get there?

Carp Hunters Europe have a fleet of large minibuses and trailers. We can take 9 anglers at a time,
however most of our trips are for 8 customers. Anglers for France trips travel with us along with
their kit. Our minibuses are strictly non-smoking and have a no alcohol policy, however there will be
comfort breaks along the route.

Departures dates and times?

In most cases and depending on where your trip is going too, we meet at the designated pick up
point.
Saturday – Saturday trips leave on the Friday evening about 8pm and travel through the night to
Dover and get on one of the first ferries in the morning to get to the lake for Saturday lunchtime.
Sunday to Sunday trips leave Saturday afternoon before your trip. We then travel through the
evening to Portsmouth and get one of the last ferries on the Saturday night so that you are on the
lake ready for fishing approximately Lunchtime on the Sunday .
Croatia and Italy
For full information please contact us directly for guidance on how these trips work as the all-
inclusive packages for these operate differently to France.

Is Tackle available to hire?

No – all customers are required to bring their own kit – however you can hire bait boats from Carp
Hunters Europe.

Is there a luggage allowance?

We have a luggage allowance of 140kg each, 7 items with each item ideally 20kg. So, this would
normally be your bivvy, bed chair, rod bag, tackle bag, clothes bag, and then you would still have two

more. This could be a bait boat etc. You can strap your day chair to your bed chair and that would
count as one item. Luggage labels will be issued by Carp Hunters Europe.

Can I take Bait?

Yes, however it’s still currently technically illegal to take bait with you to France. The lakes that we
deal with have their own bait on-site to buy – we will send you a bait list prior to your trip and will
order it directly with the lake. More bait can be ordered on site during your stay.
. You have 3 choices
1. You can order bait from the fishery which is pre-orderded by Carp Hunters Europe. Some
fisheries you will need to order their maize or pellets for example, according to their fishery rules
and this is paid for on arrival to the fishery depending on the venue.
2. You take your own bait. We allow 30kg of boilies (apart from Fishabil which is a 20kg
allowance) per customer plus 2 litres of liquids and hookbaits. Bait must be in sealed manufacturer’s
bag, labelled with your name. No Buckets with bait in are allowed and strictly no Maggots.
3. We are a Birmingham Franchisee of DNA Baits and can supply you with bait packages for
your trip. Orders must be made at least 4 weeks before travel, to guarantee delivery and payment is
on order. When making your booking you will be sent a DNA Baits pricelists and how to order. DNA
Baits will be put on the minibus for you and stored appropriately until your trip. Please refer to our
terms and conditions on the taking bait policy.
Can I order more fishery bait if I run out in the week?
Yes – any additional bait can be ordered with the bailiff or our Carp Hunters Europe team member
that is on your trip. Depending on the lake this will be paid in either Euros or Sterling.

Can I take Buckets?

No, as bait buckets can come in all shapes and sizes, we have a no bucket policy. Carp Hunters
Europe provide 10litre buckets with lids for each trip. A 5 Euro or 5 Pound deposit is required per
bucket which will be returned to the customer at the end of the week, as long as they are returned
clean and unbroken.

Do I have to have the food package?

No, however venues are carefully selected not only for the fishing but for providing an excellent food
package. For some of our trips we also provide our own personnel Carp Hunters Europe Chefs Liam
Nelson or Kurt Thorpe. Unfortunately, allergies or special dietary requirements cannot be catered
for. If you are not having the food package you will need to bring suitable cooking equipment which
will need to be within your luggage allowance. Please contact us for more information

Is there a Bailiff on site?

There will always be a bailiff on your trip to assist with the landings of the fish and for any other
needs during your stay. There will also be a Carp Hunters Europe representative on your trip. All of
our team are experienced anglers and have been selected to work for us on the strength of their
knowledge and customer service skills. The Carp Hunters Europe representative can be contacted 24
hours a day and will also be completing shop runs during the week for you. So, if you have a fish on
and need help, or you need a catch photo ring them anytime of the day or night and they will be

there. For each trip, we open a customer whatsapp group before you travel, to allow for easy
communication between the fishery, Carp Hunters Europe and customers.

If help is needed when I am on my trip – will help be available?

We always send a Carp Hunters Europe team member with you on your trip that will fully support
you throughout your trip. Our driving team are all experienced anglers and can support you with
your fishing if you wish. Our team are heavily focused on customer service and will go out of their
way to help you with anything you need.

What are the lake rules?

Each lake has their own lake rules which must be adhered to including rubbish disposal and once
booked onto a trip we will send you the lake rules separately. If rules are broken, you could be at
risk of being asked to leave the fishery. Carp Hunters Europe can take no responsibility in the event
of this happening and customers would need to make their own way home if leaving the venue
early. Customers will be transported to the nearest train station and your gear will come back on
the minibus when the trip has ended.

Does the lake have electricity?

Each lake has electricity and is available for all anglers to use. Depending on the lake depends on
where the electricity is – this however is usually in the main clubhouse/social area and can be used
to charge items you have with you.

Does the lake have English or French electricity plugs?

Depending on the lake will depend on whether the lake has English plug sockets or French outlets.

Does the lake have Fridge/Freezers?

The majority of our venues have anglers fridge/freezers that can be used.

Is there any accommodation?

Depending on the lakes most of our venues do not have lakeside accommodation unless otherwise
stated. Our trips require anglers to ‘bivvy up’.

Are there shops local to the lakes?

Most of our lakes are situated by supermarkets – our Carp Hunters Team Representative will be able
to help with this and shop runs can be arranged with them directly. We fully support you throughout
your trip. We take you to the large intermarche before you get to the venue to stock up on snacks,
water, beer etc and will go out for you in the week on designated days.

Can i take a non angling guest?

How does covid-19 affect my booking?

There are currently no restrictions relating to Covid-19 please refer to our terms and conditions.
